Amateur Radio Awareness Day in Sacramento, CA
Dear AMSAT members,
A small announcement about our activity:
On September 16th, 2006 North Hills Radio Club and others will sponsor: What is Amateur Radio (Day) in Southside park, 7th and T streets, Sacramento, CA.
This is our effort for ARRL's Amateur Awareness Day on 9/16/06, during September 2006, National Preparedness Month.
We will have several demonstrations of the various operating modes of Amateur radio, including satellite. While this is a club event, we are asking any operators that can visit or help operate, to please come by and do so. All clubs and Amateurs, and the public is invited.
There will be the Red Cross emergency van, ARES/RACES, State OES, demonstrations of: HF, CW, IRLP, ATV, Satellite (handheld and larger antennas), HVY/UHF repeaters, Weak Signal operations. While not a designated Special Event Station, We will have K6IS (club call) will be on the air and special QSL cards will be sent to all stations worked on any mode or frequency. Of course there will be preparedness demonstrations and samples of home "go packs" for the public and for the Radio Amateur.
