Good Morning,
I was asked by Hamilton, who attended one of my Satellite Presentations, to make satellite operators aware of this event, thank you.

Hi, A satellite special event station N3Y will operate from the New Yorker Hotel in NY City on November 5th to raise awareness for the effort to restore Nikola Tesla's last lab in Shoreham, NY into a science museum; The New Yorker Hotel, was Tesla’s last home in Manhattan. Wardenclyffe, the lab, is located in Shoreham, NY on Long Island. We are helping to raise awareness for the effort to purchase the laboratory and restore it into a science museum. To read more about the effort to restore Wardencyffe, please check out http://www.teslasciencecenter.org. . For the latest updates on what frequencies to catch the stations on and a sneak peek at the QSL cards and QTHs, go to http://copaseticflows.appspot.com/teslaevent.
Thanks for your help!
Greetings folks-
I will be one of the operators of the Tesla special event station N3Y tomorrow (Saturday Nov. 5). We will be operating from a top floor balcony at the New Yorker hotel in New York City, where Tesla lived for many years. The balcony faces west and is in grid FN30AS. We plan to be on the following satellite passes:
AO-27: 2:24 - 2:35 pm (eastern time) AO-51: 4:34 - 4:44 pm SO-50: 5:02 - 5:12 pm
We will have a few other operators including Diana Eng, KC2UHB, from Make Magazine. Our equipment will be a WA5VJB "cheap" yagi, and either a Yaesu VX8-GR HT or an FT-857. We are only able to do FM voice with this setup.
A special QSL card has been created for the event. Photos of the card and a bit more information are available here: http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2011/11/tesla-special-event-ham-radio-stati.... There will be a few other Tesla stations on the air tomorrow, but I think we are the only one with satellite gear.
We also plan to set up an HF station, although we're not sure if we can put up an antenna yet. We will have to play that one by ear. If we can get an antenna up, I expect we will be on 20-10m SSB and CW from about 2:00 to 6:00 pm eastern time, or 1800-2200 UTC.
