Now that the piggyback is no longer available from NLSA (Nova) for the Labjack what is available that uses a USB interface?

Friends,
LabJack also makes the U3, a smaller unit similar to the U12 (and at a similar price). I have one and am working on integrating its driver into Nova for Windows. It should be ready within a couple of weeks. I don't know yet whether it will require a relay driver board or not.

How about the G6LVB Tracker which is available as a kit from AMSAT UK:

It comes with the USB option and is fun to build.

Yes, it is of course very good ;-), plus a substantial proportion of each sale goes towards building ne satellites.

Les,
Take a look at the bottom of http://www.dk1tb.de/indexeng.htm where there are schematics for interfaces for both Labjack units. They are both easy to build. The driver chip isn't a RS part, but I picked up some from All Electronics with my last order for less than a buck each. Finding the 8 pin DIN connectors, or a cable, is probably a little harder. There are two different pin configurations. Over the years, I have acquired a couple besides the one which came with the Piggyback at hamfests and possibly Mouser.

The article on page 15 of the Jan/Feb 2007 AMSAT Journal might be of interest. That controller does come with a USB option.
