Just been watching the 1970's video 'The World of Amateur Radio'.

Amateur satellites get a brief mention near the end at 24:28 - saying they dream of the day when hams will be orbiting the earth in space stations and they see in the near future handheld rigs linked to satellites giving world wide communications.
