Good news. My IC 9700 is due to arrive around the third week of April. Was thinking that the first challenge is getting sat32 to speak to it!
Does sat32 need some form of software update for this radio or can we do it in the field?

Use the IC-9100 setting for the IC-9700. Most functions should work since CI-V commands will be most likely identical. Once Erich has the published command instructions he will update Satpc32.

Stefan (and others),
Icom also published an English-language manual for the IC-9700 related to CI-V:
http://www.icom.co.jp/world/support/download/manual/pdf/IC-9700_ENG_CI-V_0.p...
Icom had this in Japanese on their worldwide support site for a few weeks. Nice to finally see these manuals coming out in English.
