Scott, This is how I did it. I purchased a 6 in. X 6 in. X 8 ft. treated wood post and put 3 ft. into the ground without concrete. If I move, I can pull the post out and just fill the hole with dirt. The az rotor rests directly on the top of the post. It is held by four 90 degree (6 in.) angle brackets which bolt to the rotor's bottom and then secure to each side of the post. The 5500 was purchased with a separation kit so a 32 in. mast separates the rotors. This puts the horizontal boom and rotor at about 8 ft. If you like this idea, I can send pictures. GL Mike (K9QHO)
