The Mid Ulster Amateur Radio club will be hosting the special event callsign GI100RSGB over the weekend Dec 6-8th
We hope to be QRV on most operational satellites from Friday 3pm UTC, however the current storm blowing in N. Ireland may slow down antenna setup.
An ideal opportunity to work this special event call on a rare mode :)
Updates will be posted at http://rsgb.org/main/operating/centenary-station/alerts-spots/

Can some one send me the entry data for SATPC32 for the Auburn Sat?
It is just great to see all the new birds.

Hi all, Another question AO 73
I made my first contact on AO 73 this weekend with KB2M. I read on the BB that the frequency was about 10 Khz higher for the uplink and that the linear transponder wss not stable yet. I did not expect the Doppler to be shifting as much as it was on both the the QSO freqs and the Telem freqs. Maybe I had the wrong keps in! The Keps we installed were dated November 23rd.
Thank you for your help.
R W4BUE / K4AMG
I also worked AO-73 for the first time this weekend (thanks all involved for the new sat) and noticed the frequency shift also. As the bird came up I found my D/L at about 5k higher than the advertised center frequency. What was different was that by the end of the pass, the D/L ended up about 10k higher than the Doppler adjustment supplied by PCSat32. It was like, as the transponder was being used and warmed up it went higher in frequency. I found that during several QSO's I made, I had to adjust the D/L up several times. As I had just worked VO-52 this was noticeably different. I'm not complaining, I just thought this worth mentioning :-)

I have two BOAFANG (SP?) that the club want to program for SO 50. and possibly in advance for FOX 1. (I know that SO 50 has a tone.)
The questions: * What freq should be programed for S0 50 to comp for Doppler? * Same for FOX 1
Thanks everyone for their help.

Rich,
The answers to most of the questions you have been asking lately could be found if you search the BB archives.
Here is a link to Clint's "how to" for SO-50 frequencies. http://www.work-sat.com/Work-Sat/Shack_Aids_files/sat-SO50-freqs.pdf

Today when I updated KEPS they date changed in Standard but not in Groups Diverse. AO 73 lives in my GROUPS DIVERSE. Why?

What do you have selected as the Diverse Source File?

Alan,
I think he followed Erich's instructions the other day, which would pit it in the tle-new source file.

Dave, Les,
The current Celestrak file TLE-NEW.TXT still has primarily yesterday's Keps, including AO-73. No doubt an update will be available soon. The various files from Celetrak are not updated simultaneously which explains why the others did.
For now, the SpaceTrack data is:
AO-73 1 39417U 13066B 13344.10849810 .00002408 00000-0 33606-3 0 611 2 39417 097.7990 056.1394 0064274 135.4077 225.2350 14.77171595 2777

As per instructions AO 73 was entered under Groups / Diverse. I am sure that it updated before because it has a date of Dec 7 2013.
The Standard and ISS updated today Dec 10 13, but Diverse did not update.
That is all I can tell you

To use the two Baofeng radios on SO-50:
1. Program one memory channel for 145.85 MHz with a 67 Hz tone.
2. Program another memory channel for 145.85 MHz with a 74.4 Hz tone. This channel will serve to turn on the 10-minute timer when required.
3. Next, program a set of memory channels sequentially: 436.805, 436.800, 436.795, 436.785, and 436.780 MHz
4. Use one of the radios as your uplink radio, transmitting on either of the 145.85 MHz memory channels as necessary.
5. Use the other radio as your downlink radio, listening on 436.805-780. Based on my experience with Baofengs I consider them to be slow in changing memories, so I would stick to the VFO-mode for the downlink receiver. Manually set the VFO to 436.805 and adjust down as necessary for Doppler.
You may program the Baofengs to operate "split" mode but then you're limiting yourself to semi-duplex operation.
