I bought one of the first ones new....A solid radio. Only problem ever is the pots become noisy over time and I clean them with DeOxit....Not todays SDR type radio but a very good VHF/UHF radio....I have not used mine of HF but twine or twice...Diff RF outs a plus...I built a keying box for amps because keying for each band is brought out on a diff pin on the rear. Neat idea...The mod of replacing all band switching diodes with Schottky diodes is a plus...

I'm considering acquiring a Yaesu FT-847. Realizing it's a 30 year old radio & there are some documented issues with it, I'd like to hear from anyone on the list who's owned and used one..the good, the bad & the ugly.
