I would invite comments on a recent change to cabling my IC-910H with my AEA DSP-2232 TNC.
Until now, I have cabled the 910 main & sub data port sockets to the 2232 five pin din radio input port. The cable was made up using the 910 data socket 9600 bps convention. I did this in order to communicate with satellite BB services such as GO-32. Unfortunately, this convention does not support 1200 bps. I would need to swap cables in order to switch RX audio from data port pin 4 to pin 5 for 1200bps AFSK.
To get around this shortcoming, I am replacing the data socket cables with a cable using ACC port to connect with 2232. Icom manual says this should work for 9600bps FM mode or 1200bps FM/SSB modes.
Does anyone know whether using ACC port vs Main & Sub data sockets compromises anything?

I am using that very arrangement. However, I am using the Yaesu CT-39A cables since they were cheap and have the same mini-din connector. The xmit is not a problem since the same pin on the IC-910 is the same for either speed. However, I tied the 1200 and 96000 rx leads together and since you can't do both speeds at the same time, I found no problems with that configuration and no interactions. I am also using a DSP2232 that I use to use on my Kenwood TS711/811.

No need to change anything.
Just take audio from the external speaker socket of the 910 to the audio in on the 2232. Just make sure its the correct audio in put on the 2232.
Works OK for me for 1K2 on the ISS.

There is a similar but not identical issue with my FT-847. I have used two different approaches.
I used to run the leads, mostly in parallel except for the 1200 and 9600 baud outputs, to radio ports 1 and 2 on the DSP-2232. Switching the modem loaded automatically switched the inputs and outputs.
Since I started using sound card programs several years ago, I made up a simple ABC switch. DIN cables, jacks, boxes, and wafer switches are cheap at a good hamfest, and not that expensive at parts stores. Another trick for a selector, which I saw documented in QST, is to use a serial AB or ABED box which are cheap, and nearly free at a hamfest flea market. You can make up adapters, or install DIN sockets. All the wiring is at audio frequencies and is uncritical. A metal box for shielding is recommended!
Note that however you do it, the audio levels from the DSP-2232 are not constant when you change the modems. If you use the same radio port, you will need to provide some sort of means of equalization. I used some cheap trim pots in my switching box. If you use separate radio ports, you can set them individually using the DSP-2232 level controls.
