New Zealand consultation on joint 2.3 GHz and 2.5 GHz auction
This item is indicative of the problems Amateur operation on 2.3 GHz faces around the world. In the cause of New Zealand I don't believe they access to spectrum below 2396 MHz anyway and from a brief read through the documents it looks as though they will continue to retain access to 2396-2400 MHz.

Hi Terry,
Some people think the bands they enjoy in their home country are available worldwide. The reality is that they are not.
While IARU has understandably been concentrating on defending the existing HF bands and trying to get new world-wide HF allocations, 5 MHz and 7.2-7.3 MHz, UHF and Microwaves have taken a back seat.
There are no world-wide Primary Amateur allocations between 146 MHz and 24 GHz. I'm sure we are all agreed that we need some.
