AO-51 update/information Re: AO-51 BBS Uplink
Hello Franciso,
Thank you for your question about the AO-51 PBBS uplink. At this time, there is no uplink available. The reason for this is power budget. AO-51 uses a wide-band receiver, called the SQRX, which we set to 1.2GHz for the PBBS (and for running L-band uplinks during voice repeater operations as well). The receiver draws over 100mA of power, which is rather limited right now. So, we cannot support two trasmitters at useable power levels AND the SQRX right now. Hopefully in the future we can.
For the record--Your frequency and mode is correct--although many users (including myself) find that using 1268.703, or even higher, works better. It simply isn't turned ON.
We are now running (with power management OFF):
FM Repeater, V/U Uplink: 145.920 Mhz FM (no tone needed) Downlink: 435.300 Mhz FM at 500 mW
9k6 PBBS, U Downlink: 435.150 Mhz FM at 265 mW

Hello dear friends,
Can anyone confirm if the uplink for the BBS in AO-51 is in 1268.700 at 9k6?
Thanks in advance,
