Hi all
BBC News is reporting that large US spy satellite has gone out of control and is expected to crash to earth next month and should impact the ground.
Get ready to duck.

Hi,
I am trying to install gpredict on my macbook.
andrew-richs-macbook:gpredict-0.9.0 andrewrich$ sudo ./configure checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for gawk... no checking for mawk... no checking for nawk... no checking for awk... awk checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... no checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no checking for style of include used by make... none checking for gcc... gcc checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables See `config.log' for more details.
What is this telling me ?
Cheers
Andrew
OK I got past that - i installed the xcode package off the mac DVD
now i have
hecking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... ./configure: line 20763: /usr/bin/pkg-config: cannot execute binary file no checking for PACKAGE... configure: error: The pkg-config script could not be found or is too old. Make sure it is in your PATH or set the PKG_CONFIG environment variable to the full path to pkg-config.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables PACKAGE_CFLAGS and PACKAGE_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details.
To get pkg-config, see http://www.freedesktop.org/software/pkgconfig. See `config.log' for more details.
