Am abut to put up a G-5500 rotor and noticed on the test bench that the elevation rotor makes a but of a grinding noise when it operates. More so than the azimuth rotor.

1. Is this noise normal? 2. Is it worth trying to open the rotor and grease the beartings or whatever is making the grinding noise? 3. Any pitfalls to opening the unit? I have worked successfully on Ham IV rotors in the past.
