Re: Has anyone used the StarTech ICUSB232FTN to have SatPC32 control a Yaesu FT-847
Charlie:
I don’t have a FT-847 (I had one back in the early 2000’s), but I remember someone mentioning that on power off, the radio might be resetting the baud rate to 4800? Check the CAT settings after powering it back up.

Hi Charlie,
I've successfully used http://amsat.org.ar/pass.exe together with http://amsat.org.ar/wispdde.exe to control my FT-897.
Perhaps an alternative could be to check with your 1 port FTDI USB to RS232 Null Modem Adapter.

Hi all,
I am trying to use a newly purchased StarTech ICUSB232FTN (1 port FTDI USB to RS232 Null Modem Adapter) to have SatPC32 control my Yaesu FT-847. For whatever reason, I have not been able to get SatPC32 to control the radio. Has anyone had experience with using this adapter that might have a few tips to pass along? I don't know if it is the adapter itself or a step I might have missed in getting SatPC32 and the FT-847 to work.
The adapter when plugged in thinks it is in Com4 so I set SatPC32 to be in Com4 with a delay of 20 and baud rate of 57600. I have also adjusted the radio to use 57600 and have adjusted Com4 to be 57600. But it could be some other settings would work better, so I am open to suggestions.
I am using Windows 10 and version 12.8d of SatPC32.
Thanks in advance.
