Hello All,
This morning I turned AO-16 ON in voice mode around 1020utc. The output power is reduced a bit and is reported as 700 mW by the telemetry.
It is possible that it will cease transmitting; any reports that help narrow down an approximate time for such an event will be helpful. Also, reports of its continued operation will also be appreciated.
If you hear AO-16 in voice mode, free to use it. If you hear it "hummmming" in digital mode, please do not transmit to the satellite.

Hi Marc and all,
I tried working AO-16 just now (for the first time I might add, I haven't been active for a couple of months...) but didn't hear anything. The pass over my QTH (JO21) was from 1314-1325 UTC.
Just before that I worked several station on AO-27 so my equipment is OK, but could be an operator error of course ;)

I also tried AO-16 on the last pass over Alaska. I could not hear anything. I listened for the for the hum in case it was in digital mode and not hearing anything.

Many thanks to Mark for making AO-16 available during the K9BSA Scout-O-Rama demonstration yesterday, and MANY, MANY thanks for "advertising" that our station was there on the 1950Z pass... we worked quite a number of stations, thanks in large part to Mark's announcement on the bird. AO-7 and VO-52 also provided many contacts earlier in the day.
OTOH, I was embarassed for the Scouts to witness the behavior on AO-27.... you know the kind I'm talking about.
