Just had a pass of about 42 degrees at 21:13 UTC over the eastern part of the U.S. Grid EM83 and heard nothing. No SSTV, no voice. Looks like I'm going to have to leave the rig and PC running unattended 24 hours a day to have a chance at snagging anything. I should be able to copy this with a vertical right? I'm having some problems with my AZ/EL rotators and don't want to leave them unattended. 73, Michael, W4HIJ

What I did for the pass I captured was I set up a script to fire up an audio recorder a couple of minutes before the pass started, and configured the recorder to stop after 15 minutes (to make sure I really got the end).
I plan on leaving the laptop and transceiver set up like this tomorrow, because I'll be too busy to keep an eye on it.

I'll set mine up for tonight while I sleep and tommorow while I work. Maybe I should get something then. I have Chromapix SSTV software and I'll have to check my docs but I believe when set to auto receive that it will continually receive pics and place them in an "autosave" folder. During the 21:13 pass over N. America, the ISS was running packet on 145.825 simplex. The SSTV systems are not available to be run unattended at this time and the crew had begun their sleep period. You can get an idea of when SSTV and voice might be available by looking at the posted crew schedules at http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/station/timelines/10_2008_tl.html Garriott is listed as SFPVC, Fincke is CDR-18.

The first picture copied during the 18:15 pass over the west coast (orbit #56766) was a very nice view out the window, however the second one and both of the two pictures copied during the 19:50 pass (orbit #56767) were blank (dark blue screen, no image).

Batteries are running low. Guess they have to wait until they swing past a Radio Shack.

I hope Richard remembered his Battery Club card...
