What satellite is this ?
Guys
I left my satgate running on 145.825 and snagged these packets

That is APRS beacon from IO-86, the amateur payload on LAPAN/ORARI-A2 satellite.
The other mode is FM voice repeater.

So, interesting discovery... IO-86 / LAPAN A2, according to their Facebook site (https://www.facebook.com/groups/831872960241607/) appears to be in APRS mode for a few hours per day on a daily basis. Presumably the satellite responds to an uplink on the same frequency 145.825. Yes?
My question... I searched the Amsat website, and I don't see any mention of the bird. Did it die (or was disabled) and is now back on the active list?
All that said, the satellite appears to be in an equatorial orbit, and I'm too far North... {sigh}

Greg,
You're right that we should add the satellite to the AMSAT website. Given that a large majority of our members and interested individuals live outside it's coverage area, it has not be a priority.

Basically the only regularly-active ops who can really work IO-86 from the US are myself and KO4MA. I've been on a few 1-3° passes when the repeater happened to be active while southern Florida had footprint. It has a very loud 5w downlink, and is easy to work with an HT at that elevation. I suppose it doesn't make much sense to include it in the comms satellite lists on the Amsat site, since its virtually not usable from the US however.
It definitely hasn't died, and is regularly active over Indonesia and Brazil, on a published schedule.

All that said, the satellite appears to be in an equatorial orbit, and I'm too far North... {sigh}

IO-86 is in a good health and fully functional (never die) and it is approaching the 2 anniversary next month.
APRS is a full digipeater, please use YBSAT as the PATH.
Due to power management, the APRS and voice payload are only activated once a day, on separate pass. Additional voice activation on weekends.
