With the latest firmware installed from Alinco's Web site, I have been told that the DJ-G7 is a good TRUE duplex performer - where you CAN monitor the sub-band while transmitting on the other.

I was wondering if someone on the list could tell me whether or not the Alinco DJ-G7 handi will now work full duplex ?

It still desenses. What else is there to elaborate on? I think firmware changing the filter characteristics of a non-SDR radio is, ummm, optimistic. If someone is looking for a new full-duplex HT, they should be prepared to jump on the new Kenwood as soon as it's released. Your mileage may vary.

Well, crud. A fellow AMSATer wrote (here? or via private email?) that the unit was significantly better "for us" after the most current firmware upgrade.
