Hi Tim
Is the manual that you downloaded the Instruction Manual G-5500? If so, this is like a user manual. I have the original one that came with my unit. It doesn't provide the technical service type information. I need drawings of the internal guts within the EL/AZ rotators and part numbers so that I can request specific parts.
If I can change the subject for a minute. There are two adjustments (Out Voltage Adj) on the back of the G-5500 controller that are not mentioned in the Instruction Manual. If you call Yaesu, they advise that these are intended to be used only with their GS-232A Computer Control Interface. When I was working with Pablo EA4TX, who sells an excellent RCI-SE rotator interface, these mysterious adjustments were important. I also found a GS-232A Owners Manual so that I could understand more about these two adjustments. I have a FT-847 with it's operating manual. Recently, I needed a technical service manual to fix a couple small items that would have cost more to ship, parts and labor. Guess what, I found on the Internet the Technical Supplement for the Yaesu FT-847 HF & V/UHF Band Transceiver that I didn't know existed. This was not on the Yaesu Internet site. These manuals are intended for the service people.
If someone has the technical service type manual for the G-5500 rotator, this would be fantastic to share others.
Thank you. Gary
