I logged 26 QSOs from CM94 last weekend as N6REK/P on LoTW but have received only 4 QSLs. I thought CM94 is a relatively rare grid, plus I was hoping to get credit for KI7UNJs rove. Should I just be logging as N6REK even though I am operating a location other that my home QTH? I would like to get a good solid answer as I will be heading off to Utah next month and hope to get some QSLs from some new grids. Thanks.

I think the most obvious answer is that people aren’t logging the /P. When I operate CONUS I often affix the call area to distinguish that I’m outside of Alaska so AL6D/W4 etc, but I usually upload with both AL6D (USA DXCC) and AL6D/W4 to prevent this issue (and I see many QSLs for both).

Bob, I had that problem once years ago, when I ran QRP for a bunch of contacts. It all depends on how the other stations puts you in their log. If they put your call in without the /P, then LOTW will not recognize it as a match. I ended up uploading the same contact under my N3YUG, and N3YUG/QRP accounts.

Bob, I never add portable to the end of my call when I am roving. I find that it just adds confusion to the logging after the fact just as you are finding. I've been meaning to go back and change our contact to /P for your CM94 activation.

Personal opinion is don't use a / anything, just your own call, and setup a new station location in tQSL to support your roving. FCC doesn't care anymore. I think the portable designations cause more trouble than they are worth. You might wait a bit then upload again without the / portable designation and see if you pick up some more confirmations.
Another personal observation -- I usually get about 70% LotW confirmation from DX and US stations, except for Sat operators, who manage less than half of that. Despite using computers for doppler or pass prediction, using one to QSL doesn't seem to be in their DNA for some unknown reason. Wish it was better for sure.

I also log with just my call. I have four grids that I operate from rather regularly and I might use portable while there. If I am far from home, like I was last night, I use it quite a bit, but it does not go into my log.

Interesting. My experience is just the opposite. I get a much higher percentage of QSLs from satellite QSOs than from other QSO types (mainly CW in my case).
I guess that's the YMMV part.
