Hi Folks, I got in touch with Martha at Amsat and I’m on the list for when the next batch of LVB Trackers are available. I have a question..... I have heard that the unit using the USB that comes with it gives problems. has this been fixed in the new batches or should I buy one with the RS232 and buy a usb to serial converter?. My recent acquisition of a new LVB Tracker came with serial only, not the USB option. At first I thought this might be an issue but quickly found that you can buy a nice FTDI USB to serial cable for around $15 online. It is a very clean solution. I was told that the USB option had given some LVB Tracker users issues hence why serial was supplied.

Hi Scott,
I have one of the LVB trackers I purchased from Amsat UK before Amsat NA sold them. I built the unit with serial option and use a usb to serial adapter for over 5 years with no problem. I would recommend this option.
