Just returned home from giving my "How to Work the FM Satellites with Your HT" presentation to the Pasadena Radio Club. More than fifty in attendance, with three first-time attending non-hams.
What a first-class club. And what experience in that room. I always "poll" my audiences to see how long folks have been hams ... "More than ten years? Twenty? Thirty? ... " MANY hands remained "up" at 30 years. Their club is catering to all facets of the hobby and to all age groups - from promoting Boy Scouts of America events to last weekend's Field Day to many other projects and programs and events annually.
I know of no other club in the region that can claim "50+ years of existence - as well as 50 years of ARRL affiliation."
The Pasadena Radio Club is definitely one to visit if you are in the San Gabriel Valley. Their Web site is ... http://www.qsl.net/w6ka/

Hello Mark & BB
Most likely the station was 9A3ST, who has recently been active on AO-7 and FO-29 sats.
