Hi all, AO-07 seems to be a little strange. It changes between mode-A and mode-B (or perhaps mode-C) Mode C is the same as B but with lower power on the downlink.
Looking at http://oscar.dcarr.org/
is also confusing.
Perhaps the sun angle is very bad.
Any bids ?

There have been Mode B passes here during which I couldn't hear myself at all, even if the elevation was well above the horizon and there wasn't much local RFI. During the pass that just finished, I could barely hear my downlink even with the satellite nearly overhead at TCA. The signal was weak and crackly.
I plan on trying a VO-52 pass later this morning to see if perhaps there's a problem with my station, such as a cable fault.

Hi Bernhard, Thanks for the answer. What you describe is just like I heard AO-07 mode-B. Most probably not your equipment :-) 73 OZ1MY/Ib

I don't think so, either, but I'd like to make sure based on previous experience.
The battery I'm using for my FT-847 is several years old and it might not retain its charge as well. The other thing I thought might be a problem are my antenna cables but the sound from AO-7 wasn't like an intermittent fault.
