2m Link Budget - Chinese Satellite 4M-LXS
Hi,
Has anyone thought about a 2m XPOL Yagi for receiving the 4M-LXS payload? I currently have the WIMO shorter WX208 and could get 5dB more gain with the WX220. I use a SSB Electronics pre-amp.
I'll be getting my antenna mast & satellite stuff assembled next week with luck.

Hi Simon.
Do you have any info on the TX output power and antenna on 145.990? JT-65 from the moon is an interesting challenge. The LuxSpace site seems to concentrate on AIS services for tracking shipping.

Hi Michael.
Thanks for the information about the JT65 transmission from 4M-LXS.
1.5W for 1 minute in every 5 minutes should be easily receivable even on a small beam with a masthead preamp, at least in the first few days while the satellite is 'close' to Earth.
However, I was under the impression that JT65 needed to be time synchronised between the transmitter and receiver.
Perhaps the satellite has an impressive real time clock or maybe there is a version of JT65 I'm not aware of. Even if neither of the above is true, it should be possible to look at the transmission and 'sync' the receive periods by altering the PC clock.
Regards
