I see that AO-85 has been back in safe mode for a few days, after a day with the transponder on. Is it going to be left in safe mode or will the transponder be turned back on again.?
Regards Ross ZL1WN
It got kind of unhappy when we turned it on and put itself back into safe mode. We are considering what next, but nothing to announce. In the meantime it is, well, safe.

AMSAT Operations will speak officially, but as Burns said Engineering and Ops are mulling it over.

Hmm, this got me thinking.
Is any of the Amsat satellite design open source? I'd be curious to dig through and see how it operates or makes decisions to switch to safe mode.
