Hi,
Have question. I am using Sat-PC-32 V.12.4. When using with the IC-910H and turning off the 910H first the program closes with no problem. When I use it with the TS-2000X and turn off the radio, the program sometimes had trouble closing. With the 2000X turned on the program always closes perfectly. So am I missing something?
Of course I always close the program first now. Just wondering
Thanks,
Jim, K0SBH
Hi Jim.
It is question of preference. SatPC32 really prefers Kenwood over Icom. The software is so closely attached (in love) with the TS2000 that it desperately tries to keep the relationship going, even after the TS2000 broke off (for a while). However, it doesn't care for the Icom so much. The 910 can be gone or not. The program can quit anytime and move on.
73, Stefan VE4NSA (Sorry, I couldn't resist)
PS. I hope that Erich will forgive me... :-)

Thanks Stefan,
Good answer and is most likely the right one. Just kind of funny with running both radios. I have used instatrack, Nova, and now PC-32 and I love PC-32. I used to use Nova to run the rotors and PC-32 to do the radios. Now I just use PC-32 for both. hi hi

Hi Stefan, I had hoped, nobody would disclose that secret, hi.
Seriously: The TS-2000 is connected to the PC via it's DB9 serial port. With this radio the program for certain reasons is using hardware handshaking. If the TS-2000 is switched off first the program is missing the CTS signal from the radio and waiting for it until "TimeOut".
With the Icom radios the program works without handshaking.

Is this because the ICOM does not support hardware handshaking? Or is it a "deeper issue"...?!

Jim,
It has a love-it-or-leave-it attitude to the FT-847 as well. :)
