Wish I could provide a more detailed answer, but the reason why I claim AMSAT #38965 is because it was hand-written on the membership card that I got when I joined earlier this year. :-) Perhaps I should apply for Life Membership so that I could get a lower and easier to remember number.
688 members voting out of approximately 3,000 isn't terrible. Wish that many people (percentage wise) cared as much about our democracy in this country--especially in local elections.
Congratulations to the winners, and kudos to all who ran. Remember that just by volunteering to run these members have shown their willingness to serve the rest of us. Anyone who volunteers for any role in AMSAT is worthy of appreciation. All of you have mine.
Now, if only we could 688 people to get on the birds once in awhile! :-)
