Re: MIR-SAT 1 (MO-112) re-entry
Hi Pedro,
Thanks for your input which is really appreciated.
Would be great for me if it re-enters over NZ tomorrow morning as it will give me an opportunity to get another overhead pass tonight (my time).
A word of cautious to all: most sources of TLE for MO-112 are presently erroneous due to fast decay, thus frequency has to be adjusted manually and better use an omni antenna as antenna pointing is totally off.
Quite difficult to predict exact re-entry time and location with many assumptions, without accurate data and limited means (no onboard GPS as in the case of BobCat 1, unfortunately). It is a moving target while decaying quickly particularly for us here with limited experience.
Anyway great fun and learnings.

Dear All,
MIR-SAT-1 (MO-112) is decaying faster than we expected, a simulation done today shows that re-entry is expected now in a few hours.
We expect it to re-enter in the Atlantic between S.America and Africa tonight at around 20:00 hrs UTC, to be taken with a "pinch of salt" as using TLE which may not be precise anymore for calculations.
Also, MIRC and MARS will jointly issue a special Award (with some goodies, T-Shirt etc..) to the station capturing and sending to Satnogs the last telemetry before re-entry.
Please help us catching the last moments/words of MO-112, it would be really appreciated.
