My G-5500 El. rotor will elevate but no/erratic indication on the control unit. First guess pot in the rotor. Before tearing everything apart, I want to make sure 73 Bob W7LRD

Befor tearing everyting apart and guess that the problem is the pot in the rotor get a DC voltmeter and measure the voltage between E2 and E3 on the rear of control box.If the pot is OK you must measure a variation betweeen 0 volt to about 6 volt DC turning the elevation all the way by 0° to 180°
