Am I the only one who sometimes receives the ANS bulletin with missing line or paragraph formatting, everything run together? It happened this week, ANS-308, and may be only when a certain volunteer sends out the bulletin?
I use Eudora as my mail client. I cannot find any settings that might cure the problem. I receive tons of mail and this is the only one that has this problem.
Also when I check the AMSAT web site for ANS I find a beautifully formatted page, but it is missing the bulletin number (308, e.g.). It would be helpful if that was included.

Ron,
My ANS-308 formatting was perfect, as usual. I use Outlook 2003. There is a setting in Outlook which can cause something similar to what you are reporting. It allows you to squeeze out extra blank lines. I am not certain how it defines them, but I once accidently checked that box, and started to get problems with both ANS and the Keps, among others. As you report, it was somewhat inconsistent. I never found the exact problem, once I found that changing that parameter fixed the problem. Perhaps there may be something in Eudora which is similar, possibly hidden in the advanced settings?

Good morning Ron, and everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that I have posted ANS-308 at: http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/news/
The web page update requires manual intervention for the formatting so it lags the e-mail delivery.

Hi Ron,
ANS 308 came through fine for me, but I find that anything that gets digested by Hotmail (a reply or a forward) gets mangled in the way you describe. It started when Microsoft did an "upgrade" to Hotmail a few months ago (in typical Microsoft style). For, example, your original message now looks like what's at the bottom of this message. The only work around I know of is for the sender to copy the original text, and paste it over the default forwarded/replied text. By the time it gets to you, it's mangled.

Ron,
It seems to be an issue with the combination of Eudora receiving the emails and my using KMail with Kubuntu. With the help of Glen, WB4UIV, I think I've finally got a procedure together that works.
