Dear OMs,
I was wondering if arrow antennas are the only portable antennas available on ham shops or other similar products are/were available.
Any other suggestion for a simple V/U portable antenna to use for handheld or portable operations ?
Thanks Fabio

Hi Fabio:
I've had about equal success with the Arrow II and with the Elk antenna www.elkantennas.com I never managed to set a real scientific double blind all variables under control test, but in my opinion results were close enough not to be meaningful to my ears. OK, I may not be a hi-fi fanatic and never owned speakers bigger than my car but on the average, they were about equal. Sometimes one seeming better than the other but never to the point I could definitely say it was the antenna. Passes are different, trees come in the way, general conditions vary, etc...
I'll end up putting the Elk with a horizontal rotator on a mast and use it this winter, from the shack.
