Hi Greg, For your information I use 1268.703 MHz for the uplink in my SatPC32 file. That may of course vary a little with a different rig. 73 OZ1MY Ib ----- Original Message ----- From: "Greg D." ko6th_greg@hotmail.com To: amsat-bb@amsat.org Sent: Tuesday, June 19, 2007 7:02 AM Subject: [amsat-bb] Re: AO-51 mode L uplink
Had a nice chat with Joe, W7TYN in Portland, OR this evening, from Auburn, CA. The bird seemed to have more QSB than last night, or at least the
fades
seemed to be deeper. We had to wait a few moments between talking at
times,
to wait for the QSB to come back up tonight. Last night it was not as big
a
factor.
Same challenge and technique in tuning the uplink as before. Seems consistent that I have to tune about 5 kHz high to be on frequency. The PC's clock is sync'd with NTP, and the Keps are new. Is it my rig, or is the bird a little sharp?

During the one man pass late last night, I found that having set 1268.700 as the up-link in WiSP and PrimeSat Controller software, I was about 8Kcs out and had to adjust manually throughout the pass.
Great downlink all the way with the IC 910 AFC doing the all the hard work, on the end of a 19ele vertical with mast head pre-amp. Uplink is a Wimo 4 x 9 turn helix.
