Re: [amsat-bb] Gpredict "Transponder" database update for ISS?
Thanks, Apostolos,
The version of Gpredict (1.3_465) is the latest that was offered with this distro. There appear to be several bugs involved here. I haven't tried force-loading a newer version, or building from source, but generally when things are this far out of date, that process doesn't end well.
I did the manual update on the file, and that seems to be working, so I'm good for now. At some point I will need to rebuild the entire system. That may be my winter's project...

Hello Greg,
I do not know which version of Gpredict you are using, but I remember there was a bug in older versions, regarding the update of transponders. Try the latest version which seems to work OK, at least in my case.
If you can't (don't want to) update, with your favorite editor, edit the file:
~/.config/Gpredict/trsp/25544.trsp
find the V/U transponder and update it.

Hi folks,
Does anyone know if there is a way to update Gpredict's "Transponder" database for the new ISS cross-band repeater? The program can download a JSON blobby-thing from the Internet with all the transponders included, but the Mode V/U FM Voice information for the ISS is for the old radio (145.800 up, instead of 145.990).
I can temporarily override the setting in the Radio Control screen, but it reverts back to the un-altered information from time to time, which is rather annoying.
Thanks,
