You may want to consider a Quadrifilar Helix antenna. I think it will accomplish what you're looking for. I just built one using the design in the most recent QST and am very pleased with the results. I'm sure its easier to construct than a lindenblad as well. I did mine in less than 3 hours. I could do it again in half that time now that I know how.
