The first time I ever watched the ISS with the supply craft about three fingers behind zipping over Seattle (there are cloudless nights). The latter was just a small dot. The actual distance, I have no idea. Always glad to help! 73 Bob W7LRD

I remember watching the space station several years ago. I was following it through its pass when I saw an object almost as bright about a minute or so behind it. At first, I was confused and then it dawned on me that it must have been the space shuttle, which had undocked a few hours earlier.
That was a sight to see!
