As I understand it, both the vhf and uhf antennas use N connectors, is that correct? My ic-910h uses a pl 259 type connector for the vhf side.Im ordering coax...should I order N connectors, then simply use an adapter (pl259 type to N) on the radio end of the vhf coax?BibWa7dxz

I strongly suggest buying all high-quality VHF and UHF cables with N-type-M connectors pre-installed.
It is much easier to buy a PL-259-M to N-Type-F and attached it to the radio.
Good Luck,

I would get cables made up with the appropriate connectors and avoid adapters.

Agree with Dave on this one, if you can't make the cables buy them with the correct connectors.
You might only be talking 0.0*dB in losses but it also removes a point of failure.

Bob,
As others have replied, avoiding adapters is the best advice. This is especially true in outside weather and wherever the connection is subject to movement or vibration. Personally, I've used a few in the shack on permanently mounted equipment for decades without a problem as an expedient or cheapness/laziness.
