Well done and thank you for sharing your experience with the RPi and Arduino. I have only recently started looking at the Arduino since being exposed to it at HamJam (http://hamjam.info/) here a week ago. One of our speakers, via Skype, was Glen Popiel, KW5GP, of “Arduino for Ham Radio” fame. Lots of good stuff in his presentation.

Also, good to see you have found the AccelStepper library. If I pursue an Arduino interface for my CNCTRK AZ/EL positioner (for SatPC32 folks who are not quite ready to dive into LinuxCNC) this library looks like the way to go for motion control.
