FUNcube mode change: silent during eclipses
Hi All,
FUNcube-1 (AO-73) mode has been changed. It will be in telemetry mode in sunlight and silent during eclipse. This will allow the team to gather valuable telemetry, including energy consumption and battery health in current illumination conditions. This is not an error!
We are grateful for the continued uploading of telemetry data to the Amsat-UK data warehouse, and the continued support of everyone in gathering it!

We still need to change one more parameter on board to switch to the behaviour described, but that change will happen soon. If you see it in safe mode, that's deliberate and not an indication of trouble!

Hello everyone,
Just to confirm, we have switched over AO-73 in to full time transponder mode. This mode will remain active until safe mode is reached in case the battery discharges too much. Transponder operations will resume automatically after the battery charges up sufficiently. There is a write-up at https://funcube.org.uk/2022/01/01/welcome-to-2022/
We may be changing modes briefly to gather more data. If we switch modes for longer periods of time, this will be reported to the BB and all the usual channels. I am also using Twitter to post intermediate findings in this thread: https://twitter.com/pa3weg/status/1472941690054979589?s=20
