Danny - Well you are in for some exciting times --

I think John' Papay's(K8YSE) site ==> http://www.papays.com/sat/general.html is a great resource. He records most of the passes. You can listen to the passes and get a good sense of the cadence of the contacts, good operating practices, what birds are most active, etc.

Have you looked through the various getting started articles on the AMSAT web site ==> http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/information/faqs/

Make sure you have a good tracking program and your computer clock is synchronized with a reliable time source. Are you taking into account the Doppler shift when you were listening for the birds? A tracking program that controls your rig is a big help!
