Yaesu FT-2DR as a satellite rig?
Has anyone used the FT-2DR on satellites, and if so, how did it work?

Heard what appeared to be TW-1C on its 13:48 pass over central florida this morning. Some digital 9600 data and short continuos beeps. Nothing decoded. I just opened GoSatWatch on my iPad and noticed that TW-1C was automatically added to its list. And, it was just about to come over the horizon. After some quick Googling I found the frequency and dialed it in. Can anyone enlighten me with more info on this bird and its sisters 1A, and 1B? Thanks

Hi Alan,
I've used my FT-2DE to work SO-50 both simplex and duplex, using the FT-2DE for the uplink and my FT-817ND for the downlink. The radio works well, but it is a a bit of a pity that it has only 5kHz steps.
I haven't tried ISS packet with it yet.

Dani,
Thanks for the report. I have gotten a few questions about using it for satellites, and want to have some solid info.
