I am very concerned about Radio Astronomer Sir Bernard Lowell went SK.
I was in contact with him and his assistant Doctor Lascelles by letter in 1960 when the ECHO-1 passive satellite was launched and I received his VHF beacon at 108.000 and 108.003 MHz.
He was the Director of Radiotelescope of Jodrell Bank in UK and he writes many technical compreensive articles about the Radioastronomy one of that is "Radiotelescope looks back into the aeons of the universe"

As far I know Sir Bernard Lowell was not a radio ham.
By the way another well now SK radioastronomer, John Kraus Director of the Ohio State University radiotelescope called "Big Hear" was a very active radioamateur with call sign W8JK
