Hello Bob, just tried GO-32 with my D7A into a 1/4wave groungplane at 15 feet and my packets/ posit was heard by EI7IG igate. It was an 18 deg pass to my east. had read on GO-32 page that reports are wanted till more igates get up. But thought you'd like to know the 5watt HT crossed the pond agn. First 96 baud mode j bird i've worked. 73. Mark
Great! As soon as PCSAT-1 dies in a week or so and ANDE re-enters in 4 weeks or so, then Im gonna get back and fan the flames for more people to exercise their ability (any time, anywhere) with their HT to send an email via GO32.
Lets see, you are in Main, and his IGate is in Europe! Yep, nice haul for a 5W HT...

I feel much better now someone else is using it :)
I'm trying to 'build a better I-Gate' at the moment. Currently its using the linux software modem 'soundmodem' as it allows for 9600 and 1200 baud decoding simultaneously. At the moment I need to replace the 'interface' (with transformers) with a straight audio cable into the soundcard.
I was looking at settings last night but I was unable to figure out if any of the demodulators support AO-16. It anyone knows any better please let me know.

If you use a distro like Ubuntu, soundmodem and the full suite of amateur radio programs and associated documentation are available as installable packages.

If its not part of the distro, you can get it here http://www.baycom.org/~tom/ham/soundmodem/
Then you need to select the Line in as your 'capture' device in your sound mixer. I use alsamixer.
soundmodemconfig is 'exactly what it says on the tin.
Once you are happy with the config, I use sudo soundmodem -v 9 (-v turns on debugging) to run it.
The callsigns/ssid you picked in the config above then needs to be added to your '/etc/ax25/axports' so that you can use them with normal linux ax25 applications.
Thats about it I think.
I modded your original tracking script a bit to allow me to go between several satellites.
