Hi all.
Why might it be that very occasionally my postings to the AMSAT-BB never seem to arrive? It has happened three times (I think) in the past month or two but I have not established a pattern. It appears to occur whether it is a reply to another message or an original composition. It may happen when there are other addresses in the To: or Cc: list but similar messages do get through. I sent one the other day (a reply to another posting) and included SAREX in the To: list but only the SAREX copy arrived. So could it be an intermittent fault with the AMSAT-BB mailer daemon?
All suggestions welcome.

Could be any of a number of reasons. Next time you notice a message not arriving, send the specifics (sending email address, exact time sent, subject of message) to me and I can try to track down that specific message. Unless the message never made it to amsat.org I should be able to.

[Assuming you all get this ...]
Lots of suggestions from various people. So to summarise ...
This has been happening over a period of a couple of months so probably not related to any recent software changes at AMSAT. All of the missing messages originated from my AMSAT-BB registered e-mail address. This has happened with postings that did not involve both the AMSAT-BB and SAREX mailing lists and anyway other messages posted to both lists have been delivered successfully to both. I believe that my postings are being censored (and rightly so, as they are mostly rubbish).
Thank you Paul. Now that I have a direct contact, I can follow up on any future anomalies.

More likely, you used a word or phrase in your subject line which triggered the spam filters at the AMSAT server.... to the best of my knowledge, the mail list reflector is totally automatic, and re-sends all messages from legitimate users without any human intervention, and censoring is neither done, nor even possible, with the current settings, as messages are not "held" by the server for examination & approval.

An original message entitled "[amsat-bb] Doppler Shift :-)" did get through but a subsequent follow-up with the same subject did not. However both messages made it to SAREX. Hence I believe that [email protected] does not agree with my sense of humour and is filtering my jokes! Actually, this has occurred with far less frivolous postings too, both with original postings and replies to postings from others. So filtering based on the subject seems to be an unlikely culprit.

But censorship exist on many clever ways and they are made by humans at various level of the doomed pyramid. It is a built in double standard feature minding extension. If you extend this concept a bit you will be able to solved all the world problems, or at least they will make you believe it!
Just hope you where just hit by a machine blurp...
