On Wed 25 July, AMSAT volunteers will launch an APRS balloon (simulated satellite) SIMSAT from the DELMARVA penninsula near Salisbury Maryland. East coast launches are rare.
Midday on Tuesday some low-power 433.92 MHz "cricket-sats" may also be launched. See the web page:

AMSAT volunteers will operate an HF net also on 3860 KHz during the launches. Local coordination will be on the 146.82 repeater (PL 156).
WB4APR-9 will be the primary tracking chase vehicle. Winds are light and maybe it will fall on land. If it goes to sea, we have no boats available.. This is all N8PK, Pat Kilroy's project, so also watch his mobiles and APRS posit N8PK-9.

I AM LOOKING FOR AN AMSAT MEMBER to help set up and operate a ground station at the AMSAT Lab in Pocomoke City, Md. The task is to receive simple telemetry and to participate in the radio net covering one or both high-altitude balloon missions carrying Amateur Radio on Tuesday, July 24 and on Wednesday, July 25.

A ground station at the AMSAT Lab supporting a SimSat flight would provide good, positive visibility to AMSAT.
Please give me a call and I'd be glad to explain what can be done at the lab, however simple. The event will be quite educational.
