Hi all,
The title of our next workshop will likely be
similar to last year's workshop but with a new
twist:
"AMSAT-DC Workshop on Portable Satellite
Ground Station Development" where ...
This time I'd like to propose that each of us
attending will ASSEMBLE and test a small 437
MHz circularly polarized Yagi antenna.
We will each set up our own portable ground
station for display (again) and share with others
our developments achieved since last year, OR
share your development plans for the
coming summer.
I assume the cost of materials will be under
$50 USD, and we will "build to print."
THOUGHTS? ... IDEAS? ...
Would you buy in to this? Or do you have an
alternate task idea in mind to suggest?
To pull this off, I will need some help. Can
you help organize this construction task to
make it so? Please call now!
Thank you,
Pat Kilroy, N8PK
AMSAT Area Coordinator

P.P.S. Soon I will send out the final DATES
that we must select from for our workshop!
P.P.P.S. An alternate idea might be to
assemble an Az-El rotator system like the
one presented by David Bern, W2NLX, but
it might not be ripe for prime time until
the following year.
