Congratulations to AMSAT-NA and the Fox-1A team! Just monitored the 02:00-ish UTC pass; I was surprised to hear the transponder active and heard a number of QSOs and well- disciplined ops. Mostly solid copy from shortly after AOS until at about 10 deg above LOS. Not sure if its a null in the satellite antenna pattern or ground clutter (which in my neighborhood is about equally bad in all directions). Arrow antenna on tripod (and you want to be able to rotate it for polarity changes) and Yaesu VX5. No preamp and I am not sure one is going to be needed for this bird.
