Hi All:
I am scheduled to give an Eagle presentation at the Hill Country Amateur Radio Club on Thursday Sept. 7.
Tom and Bob gave a good one at Central State and Keith Pugh gave one at Austin Summerfest one week later. I assumed that I could find these on the AMSAT Web site and burn a CD of them. However, including Eaglepedia, I can't find anything like the above presentations. Eaglepedia is mostly words and pretty dry as presentation material.
Does someone have a disk? Or can I find the material somewhere?
Please advise ASAP.

Bill:
From the mechanical design point of view of Eagle, we have a very raw
concept but no real design yet. I am awaiting Bob McGwier's documenting the real values of the control and stability numbers on this raw concept before doing ANY real design work or even the release of information of this concept yet. This is because I do not want to publish, or do any heavy design work, on this concept until we are VERY sure that this is what we want to fly.
This is also why I have turned away several solicitations for publishing a paper, on the "design", for the Space Symposium or even the Journal. I have placed five years of design work on the small Eagle on hold (trashed) and I do not want to repeat that fiasco. We may have some releasable design at the time of the Symposium, but not in time to create a paper.

I will be calling all of those folks I am involved with on projects to get budget guesstimates together for Jim to build a budget so Rick and I can build the engineering budget to submit to Gunther so he can submit it back. (Are we confused yet?). I want John to do the prototype receiver, Marc to do the prototype transmitter while we work on the modulator. I am going to be pushing to get the antenna elements together for testing at our west coast testing grounds and then proceed to build the array. I want this done (the array) in the next twelve months so the budget will include that. I hope to test a bunch of parts at LTI that will be suitable for a high efficiency design for C band. I have not said anything but there has been a lot of loose talk about tapering on the phased array.
I will deliver a paper, talk on Eagle that goes as follows:
Here is the old design. Here are those areas the engineering team feel need to be changed and why. Here is a concept that at first glance appears to be adequate but it is NOT a design. It is a concept that needs to be analyzed to be a design by filling in the details on how one does a mission. We will detail those issues that have mitigated in favor of the changes. I will discuss the payloads from my tranponder team, the RX, the TX work, etc. Matt has said, and I support, his doing the digital transponder design talk.
If anyone has input, send it privately please.
