A big concern regarding the ax5043 is that it requires the use of a proprietary Windows application to configure.  If Onsemi stops maintaining that configuration program, we're screwed (unless we stick with configurations we've already generated).

The AX5243 and AX5043 are essentially identical, but the former does not
have the single-ended output (in addition to the normal differential
output). We use both outputs on the RT-IHU right now (SE is 70cm down,
Diff is 2m up). Going with the '5243 means we'd have to rethink the
Cmd/Tlm paradigm between processors -- and, if one '5243 failed, we'd
lose either TX or RX with no backup.
