The Progress 25 (P25) cargo craft undocked from the Zvezda service module’s aft port Tuesday night at 8:37 EDT. Russian scientists will test the Progress’ thrusters and propellant usage before it deorbits and burns up in the Earth’s atmosphere on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
On Thursday Sept. 27, the Expedition 15 crew members will enter their Soyuz TMA-10 spacecraft, undock from Zarya’s nadir, or earth-facing, port and relocate to Zvezda’s aft port. On Oct. 12 Expedition 16 will arrive at the International Space Station in the Soyuz TMA-11 spacecraft for a crew swap.
Meanwhile, Expedition 15 Commander Fyodor Yurchikhin and flight engineers Oleg Kotov and Clay Anderson continue maintenance on the Internal Thermal Control System loops and will install a new valve in the Destiny lab's humidity control system.
