Hey Greg,
Ubuntu 7.10 qsstv 5.03c Compiled April 29 2007. (binary from Ububtu Ham Radio repository)
I finished up with the exact same setup as you did, and copied one part pic. When I came back it said something about permissions to the /.../qsstv/Rxpictures directory. In my haste I clicked and lost it!
It's 1922 local daylight saving time and I'm still doing SLJ (sh...y little jobs) but I'll get to look at it before the next pass.
Many thanks for your help and good wishes, I sure need both!!

Hi Norm,
QSSTV is working fine for me. Version 5.3c (22-June, 2007); I just hit the "go" button, make sure I've got the squelch open on my rig, and have predict running for the rotor and doppler shift. Headed off to work, and when I got home there were pictures on my disk. A little skew, but very clear. The system is OpenSuSE 10.2.
I haven't had any trouble "saving" the pictures; they all get deposited in my ~/Pictures/SSTV directory. Look under Options->Configure to set the Receive directory. I've checked the Auto Save box on the Rx screen, and also VIS, DX, and Auto Erase. Sensitivity is set to Medium. Main filter is set to 1 khz, and no post filter. The only annoyance is that occasionally I get a screen full of fuzz, if the VIS detect thinks it hears something in the static.
Good luck,
Greg KO6TH

Hi all,
OK, I got something in unattended mode. looks like a blured picture of two bright lights! Only got half it so I don't know if it's the first or last half... last I think.
Using qsstv and still having trouble with the software... went to save it and lost it!!!! Bugger :(
Reading some other posts it looks like they have a hardware problem up there, running through batteries etc.
Oh for the simple (and reliable) days of MIR
